The HRB-TMRN is delighted to be involved in celebrating the extraordinary contributions of researchers, clinicians, patients and industry to clinical trials around the world as we mark International Clinical Trials’ Day on May 20th 2015.

Clinical trials help improve the quality of life for all individuals across the globe. On May 20th the life changing achievements in clinical trial research are celebrated by everyone involved; such as clinical professionals, academic researchers and patients.

Why May 20th?

On May 20th 1747 James Lind commenced what is now recognised as the first clinical trial, or fair test, in identifying the cause of scurvy among Royal Navy Sailors. To learn more about James Lind and his ground breaking discovery click here.

To mark this event, the HRB-TMRN held a national article writing competition, which was open to all to submit their views on clinical trials. Check out the competition winners here (coming soon). Visit the Irish Times Health + Family on Tuesday May 19th to read more.[/vc_column_text][mk_button dimension=”flat” corner_style=”rounded” size=”large” outline_skin=”dark” outline_active_color=”#ffffff” outline_hover_color=”#333333″ bg_color=”#d3007e” btn_hover_bg=”#252525″ btn_hover_txt_color=”#ffffff” text_color=”light” icon_anim=”none” url=”https://www.hrb-tmrn.ie/news/competition-winners/” target=”_self” align=”left” fullwidth=”false” button_custom_width=”0″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”15″]View Winners[/mk_button][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]For more information on clinical trials please visit the links below;
