Need to learn more about Logistic Regression? Check out our beginners course in NUI Galway this summer. This course is led by Dr John Newell, NUI Galway and the Clinical Research Facility Galway with Prof George McCabe, Purdue University.

Course Content:

  • Why is logistic regression required?
  • Fitting and interpreting the Logistic Regression Model (Minitab, SPSS and R)
  • Quantifying effects of explanatory variables: odds ratios, hypothesis testing and confidence intervals
  • Model comparisons and model building strategies
  • Assessing the goodness-of-fit of a logistic regression model
  • Use of logistic regression models for prediction
  • Introduction to Classification Trees
  • Presentation of results from a logistic regression (nomograms)
