Ewelina Lack is a PhD candidate in Occupational Therapy at the University of Galway and an affiliate PhD scholar of the HRB-TMRN. She is leading the MUSCOOT study (MUltiple SClerosis Outcomes in Occupational Therapy) in fulfilment of her PhD, funded by the Health Research Board (DIFA-2023-017) and supervised by Dr Sinéad Hynes (University of Galway). She is also a research assistant on the Cognitive-Occupation Based Programme for people with MS.

Ewelina has completed a BA, HDip and MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Galway and is an accredited member of the Psychological Society of Ireland. Her undergraduate research explored how attachment style and identity predict false-self presentation on social media in people with Borderline Personality Disorder. Her Master’s thesis explored interoception and stress as antecedents of burnout in neurodivergent and neurotypical students, using the community-created “Spoon Theory” as a celebration of patient voices. She has worked on projects at Croí Galway and the National Institute for Prevention and Cardiovascular Health, working directly with patients to understand their experiences of healthcare after a stroke or cardiac event.

The protocol for the MUSCOOT scoping review has been published: O’Brien E, Shapoori S, Kos D and Hynes SM. MUSCOOT: MUltiple SClerosis Outcomes in Occupational Therapy: A Scoping Review Protocol. HRB Open Research 2026, 9:101. https://doi.org/10.12688/hrbopenres.14511.1
